There's a thin line the ordinary human ego won't cross. He can think of himself as superior to all other life--that the universe was made just for him and revolves around him, that women were made only for his convenience, that the world is here only for him to use up, but he won't cross that line... he won't call himself god. Instead he places a blow up doll image of himself in the sky and calls himself made in its image.
