To Lauren Fischer: I know the comment is a little old, but I do hope you did not mean that negatively, as if science doesn't provide answers. It is supposed to make you question things. I would hope that you are not just sitting around letting others tell you what is true and what isn't. What does that make you? Willfully ignorant or 'truthfully' ignorant? Either way, what has your god given you a brain for, with the capacity to think for yourself?
science is the latest attempt at explaining the world around us, but not the first. there has been many creation story's- for instance the Greeks believed every thing we are and everything around us started as a shapeless chaos and the chaos itself was the first god and gave itself shape and order to create everything. yet it is only in the latest attempt that we have finally started making sense of the chaos around us. so yes research, experiment and question the words of old that we may someday grasp firmly onto the curtain and view the controls, there my yet be a wizard hold onto them.

We must conduct research and then accept the results. If they don't stand up to experimentation, Buddha's own words must be rejected.
Science does not explain things, it provides questions for us to explore.

Too bad most of religious conjecture is pure vapor and there is nothing to be tested
