Who says atheists have no moral compass? Religious zealots of course. That doesn’t seem to carry much weight though when I would much rather donate my money to cancer research than to a shyster mega-church pastor. |

Loving another human being is perfectly natural. Loving a fictional invisible sky daddy and expecting him to grant you favors is delusional and worthy of long term mental health care. |

Do you know what I think hilariously funny about the brainwashed, brain dead, bible thumping creation believers?
They'll swear to believing that the Earth and everything was created less than seven thousand years ago while at the same time leaving their fossil fuelled (coal, oil and gas that are made from long dead plants and animals) heated and lighted homes and using transport that is powered by fossil fuels to attend places of worship built of various sedimentary and metamorphic rock that consists mainly of the remains of countless numbers of creatures that lived and died over many hundreds of millions - even BILLIONS - of years.
The fairy tale story of 'The Creation' pales in comparison to the REAL story of how we, the Earth, and everything else came to be.
Gods' are NOT great. Gods' are fiction. |

Pat Simons |
The entirety of the human experience, from the time our puny ancestors descended from the trees and began walking upright, to the present day, constitutes less than an eye blink on the time scale of the universe. It takes a towering conceit to say it's all the doing of a god born of mythology from the infancy of civilization. Mythology written by people who didn't know where the sun went at night. |

EA Miller |
“A question for theists. If your side of the argument has the truth, then why do you need to: misrepresent science, quote mine, and use strawman fallacies? Just wondering why lying for Jesus is a thing.†-Stephen George |

We have to alter our clocks by an hour tonight. This is simply because 'God the Creator' got things wrong right from the outset.
Furthermore, we have to resort to this action twice per year in order to save our farmers from having to milk their cows in the dark.
Surely HE should've seen this problem arising?

It may start with a judge ruling that a straight baker doesn’t have to bake a gay couple a wedding cake because of his religious beliefs, but what's certain to happen at some point is a "Christian" physician or nurse will refuse to provide a gay person, a person of another religious denomination, or an atheist, medical care because it goes against his/her beliefs. The direct result of this could literally be death. |

I do wish more religious waverers would take a little time out to watch this TV 1999 remake of a 1955 film based on the true case of a young teacher brought to trial in 1925 for trying to teach Evolution in a school in the USA.
It SHOULD tell you all you need to know.

Well, it's only like this bloke from way-back-when who picked up what he thought was a stick and suddenly it turned out to be a snake so he flung it down on the ground.

Dr. Idel Dreimer |
Faith is the foundation stone of fanaticism. (Observation #1920) |
|
Dr. Idel Dreimer |
Religion is an imaginative construct -- a work of art, if you will -- but it differs from other narratives in its social impact. It gives hope of resurrection, salvation, and ultimate justice. It comforts with an anthropocentric view of an otherwise alien or even hostile universe. It soothes with repetition and communal ritual. Because it claims divine origin, it insulates itself -- and believers -- from mere mortal criticism. These elements create a powerful mythic cultural glue which enhances social unity -- and which -- historically -- has enabled tribal survival.
At the heart of its power lies certainty -- which is both its inspirational strength and its moral weakness: while inspiring faith with claims of infallibility and moral purity -- it allows the commission of unconscionable evils in its promulgation and defence. Reason requires that, in the absence of evidence, religion should deny certainty -- but this is like asking the dictator to renounce power, the charlatan to proclaim his deceptions, the predator to give warning to its prey.(Observation #1922)
